Shoe Deposit 2025
Welcome, and congratulations on your upcoming wedding.
This non-refundable deposit secures your booking for the months we have discussed, usually around three months before your wedding day. My aim is always to have your beautifully embroidered shoes with you at least two weeks before you say “I do”, unless we have agreed on a different timeline. At especially busy times, I may ask for your shoes a little earlier so I can give them the time and attention they deserve.
Sending your shoes
I will need to receive your shoes by the start of your booking date to keep everything on schedule. You are always welcome to send them sooner – and if I am ahead of my schedule, I may be able to start working on them earlier than planned.
Payments
This deposit will be taken off your final balance, which will be due once we have agreed on your design. I will create a personal payment link for you, and if you would like to pay the balance in smaller instalments, I am more than happy to arrange that. Please note, your shoes will only be shipped once the final payment has been received.
The process
Booking before your design is decided
You do not need to know exactly what you want on your shoes at the time of booking. Many of my brides take time to gather their thoughts and inspiration, and that is perfectly fine. You can share your ideas when you send your shoes, and in the meantime, you are welcome to email me photos, inspiration, or anything that captures the look and feel you imagine for your day, at lottie@paperinkalchemy.co.uk.Creating your designs
Once your shoes arrive, I will create digital mock-up designs, working carefully around any seams or areas that cannot be stitched.
If you have a very clear brief, such as a wildflower design with one special bloom included, you may receive one or two designs. If your brief is more open, you may receive several variations to choose from. No matter how many designs you see, you are free to mix and match elements until we create the perfect pair.
Please note: This non-refundable deposit secures your booking and reserves time for your custom items. I’m happy to try and accommodate date changes if needed, depending on availability, but the deposit cannot be refunded if the booking is cancelled.
It’s the client’s responsibility to ensure their shoes arrive with me by the agreed start date—especially for multi-item orders, as delays can affect your delivery timeline. You’re welcome to send new shoes directly to me, or we can arrange a suitable delivery plan after booking.
I’ll send over a design for approval before starting any work. Once it’s signed off, major changes may not be possible. The remaining balance will be due at that stage, just before I begin creating your piece.
